about standards, webdesign, usability and open source

Over the next couple of days I will be redesigning this website. The first step is removing the CSS of the current design an making some simple HTML changes. So this website wil be unstyled for a while – at least until I start recreating the CSS.

The basic design for the main index page and item pages should be working now. Still a lot of work to do…

  • Livesearch javascript
  • Archive / tags
  • Edit articles (move intro to body, write new body)
  • Check compatiblity with IE
  • Add the ‘code’ section
  • Add the ‘artwork’ section
  • more…

Hi! I’ve been looking around your blog and It’s one of the most beautiful Nucleus blogs. And I’m participating on CSS Reinicia 2006, some kind of spanish-CSS Reboot day (that will be next august 15). I’m almost done with the design, but I can’t add Livesearch. There’s no way. I’ve tried almost everything and… I suppose javascript is not my best…

Can you please explain how to use Livesearch in our Nucleus blogs? I see you have made it work very good. It will very very, very, very kind of you. :)

Btw, I invite you to check out my new blog on www(dot)siemprejuntos(dot)net(slash)blog next tuesday, and tell me what you think… I’ve been modding so hard the default skin :D

    ├ôscar – from Spain.

“So this website wil be unstyled for a while”

I really, really don’t understand this decision. Why not develop this new front-end in a new directory?
    Please explain this to me.

This has to be the worst redesign move to make next to taking a website completely offline while redesigning.

    Quite nice end result though.
