Above all, the icons in Folder sidebar are more distinct. Second, the contrast is weaker, which is very logical complement of better distinction. The idea of folder icon open sideways not on top is great, it makes very fresh feel of the Options menu bar. There is no any need to comply with FX look and feel, believe me. The only problem I see is that with "General" icon in Options bar - but I understand it is very difficult to create an image of such general concept :).
