about standards, webdesign, usability and open source

Rakaz is a weblog about standard, webdesign, usability, open source and other stuff I feel like writing about. My name is Niels Leenheer and I am a graphic designer and web programmer.

Over the last ten years I’ve been involved in many different open-source projects. My involvement with open-source started with phpAdsNew – an adserver currently known as OpenX. I am currently not directly involved in any large projects anymore, but I regularly contribute patches to various projects. Some of the more famous projects I’ve contributed to are: Geeklog, Nucleus CMS, Zenphoto, Mozilla, KHTML and WebKit.

You can find me on Facebook and Twitter.

The weblog should be valid HTML5. A full content Atom 1.0 feed is available for anybody who wants to read this website using a feed reader. I am using @fontface font embedding on this website – titles are set in the Delicious font by Jos Buivenga.
